About
Welcome to ConviTutor. I'm the owner and founder, and I built this platform because I believe the big corporations have gone too far in how much they take from teachers. Just because a teacher wants to make a living through a marketplace doesn't mean they should lose a chunk of their income to do it. Here's what I mean in real numbers. A marketplace is genuinely useful for finding new students — that first connection has real value. But most of them keep taking a commission on every lesson long after that introduction is made, often 18% to 33%, for as long as that student stays with you. Say you teach 10 regulars at $40 a lesson, once a week: that's $1,600 a month. At a 25% cut, about $400 disappears every single month — roughly $4,800 a year — on a teaching relationship that's now entirely yours. ConviTutor charges 0% commission. You keep about 96% of every payment; the only cost is the card processor's fee plus around 1% to keep the lights on. The ongoing value comes from the teacher — not the platform — so the teacher should keep it. ConviTutor isn't run by a big corporation with a hedge fund behind it. It's an independent project I created myself, and I intend to keep it that way. It started as a passion project and grew into what you see today. My background is in software development, music, and teaching. Teaching is a privilege that has taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life. My journey began in 2011 while I was studying piano — by then I already had seven years on the trumpet from middle and high school. My instructor saw my potential and invited me to start mentoring beginners. Since then I've picked up several other instruments. These days I don't have as much time to play as I used to, but the chops are still there — I'm like an old NBA coach: high IQ, even if my fingers won't quite run the plays they once did. My teaching philosophy is simple: every student has a unique goal. I think the traditional "one-size-fits-all" approach to music education is outdated. Whether you want to learn a few songs to impress your family, join a church choir, or dig deep into advanced jazz theory, I tailor every lesson to your specific needs. On this platform I'll be teaching courses on entrepreneurship, a mentorship program for developers, my teaching philosophy, maybe some piano (lol), and any other subjects my subscribers want to see. I hope you enjoy ConviTutor. If you have feedback, please send it through the contact page — I'm always looking to improve the app, and I genuinely want to hear from the people who use it. This platform is for the community, and I hope you come to love my little baby as much as I do. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you. Enjoy.
